In Canada, as in other countries, Global Forest Watch looks at all activities that impact on forests. For example, this map shows the extent Canada’s forests have been cleared (shown in orange) or fragmented by roads (shown in light green).
Our data indicate more than one-half of forests within Canada’s most species rich habitats have been extensively modified. This includes coastal temperate rainforests of British Columbia….one of the most threatened forests on earth.
