When we heard about Global Forest Watch, we were immediately intrigued at how our software can be used to help conserve the world’s last remaining intact forests. Our contribution to this effort is in the form of software and in training Global Forest Watch partners in how to use it. Our approach is to train trainers among the Global Forest Watch partners. They, in turn, will train others. This way, we are empowering people all over the world to be better monitors and auditors of the world’s forests.
Global Forest Watch is a solid model of how new technology can be used to protect the environment. Thanks to the information revolution, we are better positioned to head off further disasters to the world’s remaining intact forests.
