Global Forest Watch PowerPoint Slide #8: Map of Central Africa Logging Concessions

Global Forest Watch is building the first map of logging concessions for the Congo Basin. Our data shows that the last frontier forests are rapidly being opened up by logging companies.

We have all heard about devastation of forests in the Amazon Basin and in Indonesia. The plight of Congo Basin forests, the second largest expanse of contiguous tropical forest on earth, is just as concerning. Global Forest Watch is only beginning to uncover this story.
