It is not possible to ascribe any particular weather event to global warming but, in the United States, extreme precipitation events are becoming more common. Annual precipitation is increasing. And it is doing so in more violent storms than previously. This is consistent with the expected intensification of the global water cycle from a warmer earth. Strangely, at the same time, droughts could become more common.
