Though quantitatively uncertain, widespread climate impacts can be expected. These include death and sickness from heat waves, flooding, and violent storms; the loss of coastal lands from sea level rise; and the disappearance of natural systems, such as forests and wetlands, that cannot migrate quickly enough to keep up with rising temperatures.
