The supply of biofuels – fuels derived from wood, grasses, municipal wastes, and so on – would have to increase – sustainably — to over five times its present value by 2100, growing at 1.6 percent per year. This would pose a major challenge given the land needed for feeding 12 billion persons.
Hydro power must increase to 3 times its present value by 2100, growing at 1.2 percent per year.
